Specifications
The 2011 Lexus CT 200h hatchback will be built on an all-new platform not shared with any other current Lexus or Toyota models. Power is expected to come from the same gasoline-electric hybrid system used in the Toyota Prius. Power is routed to the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission.
This full hybrid system offers four selectable driving modes, including Eco, Normal, Sport and EV. The Eco mode will automatically adjust settings to maximize fuel economy, while the EV setting is expected to allow the CT 200h to travel up to a mile on power from the nickel-metal hydride battery pack alone. Dialing up Sport mode delivers maximum acceleration, quicker steering response and less aggressive inputs from the stability and traction control systems.
The four-door hatchback design wraps around an interior filled with upscale details including leather upholstery and soft-touch materials, front sport seats, keyless ignition and a six-speaker premium audio system. The options list should include the luxury amenities such as adaptive cruise control and a navigation system with a back-up camera.
