Body Styles, Trim Levels and Options

Lower the hardtop on the 2010 Lexus IS C from our Reno Lexus dealer and raise a few eyebrows. The three piece convertible hardtop of the IS C retracts in 20 seconds, making it the fastest in its class.

The IS C is available from our Carson City Lexus dealership in two trim levels. The IS 350C RWD boasts a powerful 3.5L V6, which accelerates 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and produces 306 hp. The IS250C RWD is equipped with a 2.5L V6 engine, which accelerates 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds and delivers 204 hp.

Powertrain and Performance

The Lexus IS 250C is a four-passenger retractable-hardtop convertible introduced for the 2010 model year. Power is supplied by a 204-horsepower 2.5-liter V6, with your choice of manual or automatic gearboxes, each with six speeds. The IS 350C is equipped with a 3.5-liter 306-hp.  A traditional manual transmission is standard on the IS 250 Convertible, featuring six speeds for enhanced performance and better fuel efficiency.

The IS 250C features floating two-piston front calipers for impressive braking power. The IS 350C offers even greater stopping power, utilizing alloy monoblock four-piston front calipers, as well as larger front-brake rotors.

The entire suspension system has been fine-tuned to provide excellent balance between ride and handling, regardless of the position of the top. For 2010, Lexus reinforced the chassis’ upper-support bracket for the rear shock absorbers and optimized the suspension bushings and the rear-suspension rubber mount. Lexus also fine-tuned the front and rear springs, as well as the shock absorbers, all to provide the optimum balance between ride and handling.

The IS Convertible comes standard with rear-wheel drive to help optimize vehicle handling and balance.

Safety

The new Lexus IS C, available at Lexus of Reno, Carson City’s premier luxury vehicle destination, offers a myriad of safety features. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) employs computerized control to help prevent the wheels from locking up or skidding during braking. For additional control, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) monitors and manages the force between the front and rear brakes to help optimize brake performance. The moment the system detects an attempted emergency stop, Brake Assist  automatically boosts braking force if the driver does not apply enough pressure to the brake pedal.

The IS Convertible features driver’s and front passenger’s knee airbags as well as front seat-mounted side airbags to help protect the occupants. Sensors determine the speed of deployment for the driver’s side airbag based on the position of the driver’s seat on the seat track. Also included is a twin-chamber airbag for the front passenger, which features an indentation at its center to help disperse the forces immediately after deployment.

Available sensors monitor the area near the rear of the vehicle and automatically prevent roof operation when obstacles are determined to be too close.

All IS models include Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) , which uses a sophisticated network of sensors to anticipate a skid before it occurs, rather than reacting to a skid the moment it begins. When VDIM detects a potential loss of traction in a turn, it seamlessly integrates steering, braking, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)  and Traction Control (TRAC) to help the driver stay on course.
